A-Game

Wicked Track.

Enjoy. :)
Their other song is "Go Head Shawty". It's like a dope track.
It's like Lil Wayne's "I'm a Go Getta" except better. :P
Nah .. I'm joking. It's a good track though.

Kings of Leon are coming to Toronto in July. I want to go so bad.
But at the same time I want good tickets which are kind of expensive. :(
They are like $90. Which is a lot of money considering I don't have a job.
I guess I'll still get the tickets. But maybe not the expensive ones.
Not sure what I'm going to do.

On another unrelated note, the Montreal cup (swimming) coincides with my week long break during my summer semester. (Summer classes suck!!)
So I may go to that. Not sure. I'll see depending on my money situation.

KOL is a definite though.

Now I have to write an 8 pg essay for history class.
Later.

Random update time!!
1. I still don't have a job. :(
2. I'm not actually working out, so I'm not as healthy as I want to be.
3. I am still reading a book a month. I read "The Prince" by Machiavelli in Feb.
And the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Carroll in March.
4. I have two assignments due in the coming three weeks, and I may work on them last minute, like always.
5. I have four exams coming up.
6. I bombed my French midterm :(
7. I'm taking three summer courses. Two of them are poli sci. courses.

I guess that's all the update for now.
If you have any suggestions for April or May reading let me know in the comments. :)

thank you.

It's time for a random post!!
YAY!!!
The last post (the one under this) was kind of heavy, and serious. So lets have a post about nothing. (Well. It'll be about something. It'll be about some cool stuff I've found on the internet.)

1. I love love love clothes, I'm a normal woman, it should be expected. I like the classic look, because of its timelessness. I found some really cool pieces that (I think) are timeless.
Pics Under The Cut...Collapse )
Umm .. that's it for clothes. (for now, more in another post, maybe)

2. I found this on etsy. And then I lost it. And then I found it again. And then I bookmarked it because I didn't want to forget it.
What is it. It's a profile/shop that  "... specialize in wire & mixed media jewelry. My pieces are built around historic hardware, vintage buttons, sea glass, and found natural materials, such as shells and stones." -Sojourn Curiosities
Here are a couple of pieces that I love.
Click for cool jewelleryCollapse )
I can't think of anything else to add to this post. I know it's kind of random. And if you've gotten this far. So one more thing won't hurt ...
Thank You for reading my post. :)

**Just finished "The Painted Bird"...
I don't really know what to say about it. The imagery that it presents you with is unbelievably rich, and descriptive. (And definitely gory.)
*Spoiler Alert*Collapse )

Thank you invictus_86 for recommending this book to me. Though it was a bit gory, and there were scenes that made me cringe, I did enjoy the book. (If one can really enjoy a book of this nature.) I'm actually using it as an example for a paper for my history class. (I'm looking at the effect that World War II had on literature, specifically involving conflicts.)

How did you choose your LiveJournal username? Is there an interesting story behind it?

I chose my LJ Username because it's based on a character from Homer's 'The Odyssey'.
In the begining, Odysseus is on an island with the sea nymph "Calypso" and I really liked her character, so I decided to choose that as my LJ name. (I added the queen at the end for the lols.)

Did you remain at the same school(s) or transfer to a number of different schools growing up? How did your early educational experiences impact your self-esteem and confidence?

I transferred a lot. (It's a lot to me...)
I think that I went to 5-6 different schools.
I've moved (to different countries) about 4 times, and so because of that I had no choice but to start at a new school. (I started school in my birth city, and then moved 4 times from there, making that 5-6 schools.)

The self-esteem and confidence ... that's kind of different.
It was shot from about grade 3 (my 3rd school) so I really had no hope after that.
(And it didn't help that every school after that seemed to make matters worse, than better.)

But going to all of these different schools did help in introducing me to new cultures, and people, and different race/religions/ethnicity/etc. Because of it (and how my parents raised me) I'm definitely more tolerant than most people around me. (And less ignorant.)
Anyways, that answers that question.

On a more random note, I am almost finished reading The Painted Bird. (I will comment on that in another post, when I am finished the book.)

What are your least favorite book and movie genres? Are you willing to make exceptions? Do you ever feel left out of social events/discussions owing to atypical taste in movies/books?

My least favourite movie genre is/are Musicals. (I don't really have a least favourite book genre.)
The only way I'll make an exception for Musicals, is if it's a Hindi film. (That's because almost all Hindi films are musicals...)
Nope never. My friends don't usually watch Musicals.

Oh I also remembered that I don't care for Horror/Scary movies.
And yeah, those I get left out from. But I don't really care. I don't like being scared out of my mind because of some movie.
